Bell Keeper's Metronome

From BossRush · Qinglan Archipelago Wiki

The brass plate reads: A time to reload, a beat to fire. Turn the wait between magazines into a small timing challenge.

Where to get it

Defeat the vanilla boss Speedy for a 20% chance of one extra metronome, including on vanilla maps. This does not replace his normal loot; the ice variant and regular followers are excluded.

Reach affinity level 5 with the Silent Bell Keeper, then select Bell Keeper's Keepsakes from the interaction group. Exchange 20 seashells for one metronome. Only shells in your backpack count; take stored shells out first. Failed item delivery returns the shells.

The bell-court device offers the same keepsake exchange with the Keeper's affinity requirement and seashell price, even when he is absent. The shop follows the Keeper home after marriage, with the same item and seashell price. Each exchange delivers one item; reopen the shop to trade again. It is not sold by Dingdang and is excluded from random reward pools.

How to use it

  1. Equip it in a totem slot and hold a gun that reloads a whole magazine.
  2. Start reloading. A timing bar appears below the crosshair, with a white marker moving to the right.
  3. Press your configured reload button again (R by default) while the marker is inside the gold window to enter the normal ammo-loading step early.

A successful beat produces a brief brass-colored glint, a mechanical click and an "ON BEAT" message that fades out after the reload. Early or late attempts show that the reload will continue at normal speed.

The window is centered at roughly 62% of the reload and lasts 0.16–0.30 seconds, depending on the current reload duration. The game still determines how many rounds are loaded and consumes inventory ammo normally.

Rules

  • One attempt per reload. Early, late or skipped attempts finish at normal speed, with no extra penalty.
  • Repeated presses cannot retry a failed attempt. Automatic reloads qualify too; the initial press that starts a reload does not count as the timing attempt.
  • Single-round reloads and reloads shorter than 0.75 seconds are excluded.
  • Switching weapons, cancelling a reload, unequipping, death or starting a scene change cancels the opportunity. Equipping midway does not grant a new attempt.
  • The timing display and input are suppressed while inventory, map or pause UI is open.
  • Works in the base for practice. Only the main player's equipped totem activates it; backpack items and NPC equipment do not.

Attributes

  • Type: Totem
  • Quality: 5
  • Weight: 0.3
  • Base value: 16,000 (item valuation; exchange price is 20 seashells)

Practice with a slower-reloading rifle. Watch the white marker enter the gold window, then press reload. Missing the beat never makes the original reload worse.
