Fate Echo Guide

From BossRush Wiki

Core Concept

Fate Echo reads you first, then tests you. Do not treat the strongest habit from your last run as a permanent answer: range, ammo, and gun/melee preference are all sampled. A stable loadout keeps at least two engagement ranges, two damage approaches, and a backup ammo plan.

Before Entry

  • Bring a primary weapon and a backup with a different damage approach
  • Carry more than one ammo option when possible
  • Pack enough healing and basic consumables; this is not a standard BossRush run with unlimited breathing room between waves
  • At R2/R3 Nemesis, prepare mobility, burst damage, or a safe ranged plan
  • Treat the two contract choices as a route decision, not flavor text

Act I: Build the Profile (Waves 1-3)

Wave 1

  • Learn the map and spawn positions
  • Keep the run's damage pattern clear enough to review
  • If you want a distance contract, deliberately establish a readable terminal range

Wave 2: Distance Learning

  • The system reads wave 1's credible terminal distance
  • If you fought up close, create distance; if you stayed far away, take the next fight closer
  • Changing position is not enough. Deal meaningful damage from the new range to break the counter

Wave 3: First Nemesis and Ammo Mark

  • Check the HUD for the named ammo type
  • Swap ammo, swap weapons, or go melee before you start violating the mark
  • The Nemesis is already pressure enough; protect the break condition before gambling on Last Stand

Act II: Spend Resources Carefully (Waves 4-6)

  • Wave 4 applies an Attribute Lock against the side that carried wave 3
  • If guns dominated, prepare melee or a different gun plan; do the reverse if melee dominated
  • Wave 5 asks for another range change
  • Wave 6 combines the Nemesis with an Ammo Mark. Save healing, ammo, and a retreat line

This is where many runs spend too much chasing Resolve. Contract progress matters, but reaching Act III with resources matters more.

Act III: Save an Answer for Wave 9 (Waves 7-9)

  • Wave 7 applies another Attribute Lock; confirm your backup damage style still works
  • Wave 8 is the final distance lesson and the last chance to earn a range break
  • Wave 9 combines the Ammo Mark with the R3 Nemesis. Keep your most reliable ammo and burst option instead of emptying everything on wave 8

Should You Take Last Stand?

Last Stand only triggers on multi-Boss waves (2, 5, 8) — at most 3 chances per run.

  • Safe route: finish the last Boss during the countdown and secure the wave
  • Contract route: only chase Resolve when a scoreable direct gun/melee final blow is ready
  • Greedy route: drag the timer for one more Resolve and let the Nemesis turn the fight

When Last Stand expires, the Boss heals and gains movement, gun, and melee damage. Do not trade a stable clear for a low-confidence gamble.

Resolve Planning

Resolve caps at 11:

  • 0-2: 6 items
  • 3-5: 7 items
  • 6-8: 8 items
  • 9: 9 items
  • 10-11: 10 items

The 6-to-8 range is a meaningful reward step. If your contract asks for all three axes, secure those breaks first instead of gambling every wave for the maximum total.

Nemesis Rematches

  • R1: learn its movement and skill rhythm
  • R2: start planning mobility and safe distance
  • R3: rely on burst windows and backup ammo; it is no longer a normal Boss
  • After a defeat, remember the Nemesis's act and the mistake that ended the run

Common Mistakes

  • Bringing one gun only — Attribute Lock or Ammo Mark leaves you with no second answer
  • Spraying random ammo during learning — invalid samples can suppress the ammo read and make contracts harder
  • Treating Last Stand as mandatory — it is an optional score window, not a wave-clear requirement
  • Reading only the Boss count — the three-Boss wave is not always the most dangerous part; an unprepared counter is
  • Treating the Relic as a one-way cost — victory returns it; the real cost is a failed run

A comfortable loop is: stable output on wave 1, deliberate range change on wave 2, conservative Nemesis and ammo handling on wave 3. Add Last Stand and contract goals once that rhythm feels natural.
