What Is It?

A lite roguelike run. You enter completely naked, get a random starter kit, and snowball by looting enemies. Enemies get tougher each wave, but so does their loot. Adapt or die.

Entry

  • Naked — no equipment, empty backpack and pet bag
  • Carry a BossRush Ticket
  • No Banner or Transponder (those trigger other modes)

Starting Gear (Random)

  • Weapon (100%): Q1-3, ~30% chance per attachment slot
  • Ammo (100%): Matching caliber, 120-180 rounds, magazine pre-loaded
  • Armor (50%) / Helmet (50%): Q1-3
  • Melee (40%) / Backpack (40%)
  • Medical (100%): 3 healing items — that's all you get
  • Totem (30%) / Mask (30%)

Wave Structure

  • 1-2 — Weakest grunts, 0 Bosses. Free loot
  • 3-5 — All grunts (no ghosts), 0 Bosses. Gear-up window
  • 6-10 — Grunts + 1 Boss (heavy hitters excluded). First real fight
  • 11-15 — 2 Bosses, and the heavy-hitter block lifts at wave 11: the Four Horsemen, Koko Koko, the Dragon Descendant and the Skyburner Dragon Lord are all back in the draw
  • 16+No more minions: every enemy in the wave is a Boss (3 by default, following your enemies-per-wave setting). Game on

3 enemies/wave by default (adjustable 1-10 in config).

Boss Filter also applies to this mode; disabled Bosses will not enter the From Scratch Boss pool.

Enemy Gear

Enemies carry random gear too — quality scales with wave and HP: Quality = 1 + (Wave/5) + (HP/500), max 6. Later grunts may drop better gear than what you started with. Boss enemies keep their original helmet and armor.

Scaling

  • Enemy HP: +3% per wave (cumulative)
  • Enemy gear quality increases with waves
  • Late waves include all Bosses, including custom ones

Arena NPCs

  • Awen (Courier): Always present, storage & retrieval
  • Dingdang or Yuori (random): Reforge/shop or healing

Achievements

  • From Scratch — Complete 10 waves (30K)
  • Perfect Scratch — 5 waves no damage (350K)

Tips

  • Random start = use whatever you get. Don't restart for a perfect roll
  • First 5 waves have no Bosses — scavenge upgrades
  • Medical supplies are precious: 3 items, that's it. Don't get hit
  • From Scratch rolls timed random events as well: an airdropped supply crate or a passing merchant is the best thing that can happen to you while you're still broke, while a Blood Moon or an uninvited Boss is worth thinking twice about. See the "Random Events" page
